Detroit producer Len Bartush aka Mutate started making music in the late nineties. His music was released on Development and D-Records both in collaboration with Richie Hawtin, Plus 8 and M-nus records.<\/span><\/p>\n

After several successful releases from 1997 – 2000 the landscape of techno began to change with the popularity of the mp3 format rising. Len became disinterested with the current trends that were arising namely minimal techno. It was during this time that he began to explore new ideas and left old ones behind taking an indefinite break from releasing music.<\/span><\/p>\n

After many years of exploring technology and sound design Len would find a renewed interest and spirit in the kind of music he first began creating. With the resurgence of harder edged experimental techno via such labels as Electric Deluxe, CLR and Stroboscopic Artifacts.<\/span><\/p>\n

“There was a reason to make music again, people were interested in the music I loved and they were pushing each other and the music further than it’s ever been.”<\/span><\/p>\n
