Our next podcast comes to us from our good friends and North American techno duo Ra\u00edz<\/a>. \u00a0Los Angeles born and bred, Vangelis and Vidal Vargas were raised in the \u201980s on a steady diet of Latin freestyle, electro, and new wave that pervaded their urban environment. \u00a0By the mid \u201990s they were sampling LA\u2019s underground club scene and heavily researching electronic music\u2019s roots. \u00a0After years of influence they began to express their musical vision through their own recordings and performances. \u00a0Vidal and Vangelis eventually found common ground with producer \/ performer Drumcell<\/a>, and in 2002 they formed the Droid Behavior<\/a> event production group and record label.<\/p>\n

As producers Vangelis and Vidal have released and licensed original music and remixes under various aliases (most notably Acid Circus and Ra\u00edz) on the Droid Recordings<\/a> imprint as well as respected labels Historia y Violencia<\/a>, Tora Tora Tora<\/a>, DJMag<\/a>, Music Man<\/a>, Resident Advisor<\/a>, Enemy Records<\/a>, Gynoid Audio<\/a>, Reloading Records<\/a>, Micro.Fon<\/a>\u00a0and Timefog<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0Their music has been charted, played and supported by Speedy J<\/a>, Chris Liebing<\/a>, Marcel Dettmann<\/a>, Ben Klock<\/a>, DVS1<\/a>, Levon Vincent<\/a>, and Jonas Kopp<\/a>\u00a0to name a few.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ra\u00edz along with Luke Slater, Silent Servant, Luis Flores,\u00a0R\u00f8dh\u00e5d, Andrei Morant, Project 313 and many more will be performing in Detroit at our annual Movement Electronic Music Festival official after party, Interface 42 l Scene 10<\/a>. \u00a0The event will happen on Sunday May 26th at the Works, 1846 Michigan Ave.<\/p>\n
