This week’s podcast comes to us from Detroit’s own Tom Newman<\/a>. Most well known as Acid Pimp, Tom has been DJing and producing music for almost 20 years. By the late 1990’s Tom was a major headliner throughout the North America, and his consistant releases on Cheshire<\/a> became highly sought after. \u00a0It was around this time that he helped form D-records<\/a> with Richie Hawtin<\/a>, Rex Sepulveda<\/a>, and Len Bartush<\/a> as a sub label of M-nus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After having the opportunity to perform at Tresor Berlin<\/a> in 2001, Tom became inspired to form Friction Detroit<\/a>,\u00a0which\u00a0would surface as Detroit’s first all techno club night. \u00a0He with the help from his close friend Chad Parraghi aka “CFX<\/a>” hosted an incredible roster of Techno’s most well known artists from around the world such as Chris Liebing<\/a>, Dan Bell<\/a>, Regis, Function<\/a>, Steve Stoll<\/a>, Christian Wunsch<\/a>, Tim Xavier<\/a> to name a few.\u00a0 Tom recently returned with a weekly podcast at\u00a0frictiondetroit.com<\/a>, and a full schedule of new releases on Friction Detroit\u00a0Records.<\/p>\n
