For our 102nd consecutive Blank Code podcast we are happy to have Minneapolis techno innovator, Aaron Litschke. Having launched his career from the trenches of the mid-90s rave scene, Aaron Litschke became a veteran behind the decks at a young age. That experience has helped shape his unique style and deep track collection, blending classic tracks with new, and unreleased beaters that heads will surely appreciate. His layered blend of techno, house and acid has kept feet moving across America from Chicago to Portland, and San Diego to Detroit.
Aaron is not only a DJ, he is also a producer. He has released his work on labels such as Naked Lunch, Assassin Soldier Recordings, and Parallel 125. When he’s not making beats or mixing them, along with friend and partner Mike Gervais, Aaron makes up one-half of Minneapolis promotional duo called SYSTEM. SYSTEM hosts of a successful weekly Friday night at The Bolt Underground in downtown Minneapolis, bringing in techno heavy hitters from the all 4 corners of the world. Keep up with Aaron’s music on Beatport & Soundcloud.

Our next podcast comes from Kyle Geiger, recorded live from Tresor Berlin on 03-02-13. Hailing from a region known for its basketball and corn, the emergence of an artist from Indiana such as Kyle Geiger is marked as seldom at best. He certainly is no stranger to the international techno arena, with releases on heavy hitter labels such as Drumcode, Soma, Perc Trax, and Droid. Refusing to rest on his laurels, Kyle continues to push the boundaries of his sound through the creation of his own label known as Cubera.
Being his brainchild, Kyle has been able to push new musical concepts free of any outside limitations with the end objective being to create a more moody and memorable collection of productions. Originally inspired by the harder, percussive stylings the techno sound featured on seminal labels from the late 90’s, Kyle has witnessed the evolution of the genre as it morphed into a more accessible, groove based sound. Still loving the energy and power of the more straight forward side of techno while embracing the genre’s changes, Kyle has refined his productions and DJ sets into what very well may be a new breed of soundscapes that pushes things forward for the next generation of techno to come.
