This week we have a special 4th of July Blank Code Podcast from Audio Injection.
Since he was first introduced to electronic music back in the early 90’s, David Flores aka Audio Injection was hooked. At the early age of 15 he started DJing and playing out at local underground events around Southern California where you could find him spinning various styles of electronic music ranging from house, acid, and techno to hardcore techno.
After years of DJing he learned to produce his own music, which has landed him releases on techno labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, and local label Droid Recordings. Since 2003, through his close association with local event production group Droid Behavior, Audio Injection has become a resident at the popular Interface warehouse events as well as a regular producer for Droid Recordings. He has also played together with Drumcell at Berghain, Berlin in 2010 & 2011 in addition to gigs in Athens, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne, Wales, and various events throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
In early 2011 Audio Injection started a project called ‘Truncate’ which focuses on the deeper, darker, and more raw side of techno. His Truncate releases have been getting support from big players such as Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Jonas Kopp, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, Dvs1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Silent Servant, Technasia, and many more.
With releases & remixes on labels such as Droid, CLR, Electric Deluxe, Sleaze, BluFin, Enemy, Impact Mechanics, Ground Factory and many more, Audio Injection continues to shape his own sound as well as collaborating with Drumcell to release more mind bending techno, putting Los Angeles & Droid Recordings on the techno map.

This week’s podcast comes to us from Detroit’s own Tom Newman. Most well known as Acid Pimp, Tom has been DJing and producing music for almost 20 years. By the late 1990’s Tom was a major headliner throughout the North America, and his consistant releases on Cheshire became highly sought after. It was around this time that he helped form D-records with Richie Hawtin, Rex Sepulveda, and Len Bartush as a sub label of M-nus.
After having the opportunity to perform at Tresor Berlin in 2001, Tom became inspired to form Friction Detroit, which would surface as Detroit’s first all techno club night. He with the help from his close friend Chad Parraghi aka “CFX” hosted an incredible roster of Techno’s most well known artists from around the world such as Chris Liebing, Dan Bell, Regis, Function, Steve Stoll, Christian Wunsch, Tim Xavier to name a few. Tom recently returned with a weekly podcast at frictiondetroit.com, and a full schedule of new releases on Friction Detroit Records.

A Chicago based dj and producer, Adam Stolz currently works as one half of Freaky Vibes Recordings. Alongside fellow artist/owner Groovik, Adam has helped develop a consistent string of quality releases that keep people jackin their bodies. His dark, dissonant sounds pull your brain away from the track just long enough for your ears to prepare for the next onslaught. And with the help of his friends, Adam is looking to take the label even further, with a massive remix compilation of his track ‘Lambchoppin‘, incorporating all of those producers on the release. (Look for that in Mid-Summer 2011)
Adam also recently released a track with Detroit based producer E. Spleece on Cryovac Records, vinyl only. (Sub-label of Docile Rec) and he has two remixes of Groovik’s ‘Absinthe’ out now on Freaky Vibes. Summer 2011 will also be busy for him, with releases still scheduled for Freaky Vibes, Black Nation Recordings and Blank Code. Here now is sixty minutes of slammin tracks from this very unique midwestern artist. Enjoy.

Since his first experiences of immersion in the electronic music world, Tony Kasper has managed to keep his finger directly on the pulse of the techno community. He developed his mature passion for music when he was exposed to classic blues, jazz, and rock and roll. From the first moment an audience listens, it is clear to them that Tony’s dj sets epitomizes professionalism behind the decks.
Tony’s inimitable mixing style is known to be highly adaptable to the ambiance of the events he plays. His technique includes, but not limited to, utilizing three turntables and multiple audio sources to create his unique techno blend. A Tony Kasper dj set, mixing dark and aggressive techno or funky floor-burning techno, will often parallel the driving yet chunky sounds of the well-known Detroit, Swedish, German and Italian techno artists. Tony’s primary goal behind the decks has proven to be fruitful as he utilizes his vast knowledge of tracks and quick mixing ability to control an audience with every measure he plays.
As evolution precedes, Tony is now currently working diligently to release his style of Techno and House for the masses. He has specialized in remixing for several artists from the Chicago and Detroit area and has already released several original tracks and remixes on such labels as Black Nation Records, Klientele Music, Kompute Musik and Smooth Agent Records.
