This week’s podcast comes from techno producer Dimitris Diamantis aka Corvum. Greek born musician, composer, producer, DJ, sound designer. He began listening to artists/groups and music in general, based on synths, electro and synthpop. In the late 80’s was involved with House and Techno music, EBM, IDM and other various sub-genres of electronic music.
It was in the early 90’s when Dimitris created Corvum, and since then he embarked on a musical journey of experimentation. Computers were the new tool added to his arsenal and along the studies he was involved with digital software and hardware music production and Djing. As Corvum (first era) created 4 unreleased hypnotic industrial downtempo minimal LPs. He has released his music on labels such as Gastspiel Records, Giraphone Records, Voodoo Records, Cirque Du Minimaliste, Room133 Records, DAT, LW Recordings, Plastiq, and VOL0101 Records to name a few. The driving force behind the Khombat label, Anthony Jimenez has smashed his way into the DJ circuit with his steady dose of dark driving techno. Using an all-digital platform, Anthony loops and layers different elements during his sets to create a totally unique performance every time he plays.
Currently Anthony resides in Detroit, Michigan after starting his career as a DJ in the Cleveland electronic music scene. His mixes among others on the Khombat Podcast have reached every corner of the globe. You can see Anthony play live at the next Blank Code event SCENE.11 on June 15th as an opening performance for Kyle Geiger at the Works, 1846 Michigan Ave, Detroit!

Sone is Seattle based DJ and Producer Brian Sonnleitner. Sone has been DJing for over a decade, his sets are stuffed full of tension ranging between the deep and dark to heavy big room sounds but, without fail, maintaining the element of the dance floor. While keeping his philosophy of “the best techno is simple and effective”.
2008 brought Brian into the realm of production with his tracks exploring the bigger and darker side of techno. His original productions and remixes appear on his home label, From 0-1, which he runs with long time friend and cohort Milkplant, Slant Records, Audio Autopsy, and Subspec to name a few. His remix contest for the track “Recovery Mode”, released on From 0-1, received far reaching interest and support with submissions coming in from all over North America and Europe. One of Seattle’s brightest up-and-comers, the years ahead will surely see his impact on the Northwest and beyond.

Alberto Pascual is one of the most internationally famous Spanish producers with a great position in the world techno scene. Despite his youth, Alberto has a very important career and a remarkable curriculum. He´s been related to electronic music since 1999 and currently we can’t talk about anything but a great progress. With more than 30 releases behind, he counts on the support of most of the DJ’s and producers of the techno world. He´s currently working on record labels of international stature such as Drumcode, Plus 8 and our imprint Blank Code.

Our next podcast comes to us from our good friends and North American techno duo Raíz. Los Angeles born and bred, Vangelis and Vidal Vargas were raised in the ’80s on a steady diet of Latin freestyle, electro, and new wave that pervaded their urban environment. By the mid ’90s they were sampling LA’s underground club scene and heavily researching electronic music’s roots. After years of influence they began to express their musical vision through their own recordings and performances. Vidal and Vangelis eventually found common ground with producer / performer Drumcell, and in 2002 they formed the Droid Behavior event production group and record label.
As producers Vangelis and Vidal have released and licensed original music and remixes under various aliases (most notably Acid Circus and Raíz) on the Droid Recordings imprint as well as respected labels Historia y Violencia, Tora Tora Tora, DJMag, Music Man, Resident Advisor, Enemy Records, Gynoid Audio, Reloading Records, Micro.Fon and Timefog. Their music has been charted, played and supported by Speedy J, Chris Liebing, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, DVS1, Levon Vincent, and Jonas Kopp to name a few.
Raíz along with Luke Slater, Silent Servant, Luis Flores, Rødhåd, Andrei Morant, Project 313 and many more will be performing in Detroit at our annual Movement Electronic Music Festival official after party, Interface 42 l Scene 10. The event will happen on Sunday May 26th at the Works, 1846 Michigan Ave.
