This week we are excited to bring you one of south Florida’s leading techno producer/DJ’s, Hilary Warner. Showing an early interest in music, Hilary was inspired by her father, a talented pianist. These formative years spent at the keyboard with her dad laid the foundation that fostered a strong relationship with electronic music down the road.
Later in life, Warner was exposed to the Miami nightlife and inspiring artists such as Magda, Marc Houle, Richie Hawtin & Chris Liebing. She considers these experiences and influences crucial to her development as a DJ. Creating her own hard, chunky, minimalistic style, Hilary has released her music on labels such as Night Light Records, Deeperfect Records, Kaputt, Frakture Audio, and most recently on Dark and Sonorous Recordings. Follow Hillary’s future productions and podcasts on Beatport and Soundcloud.

This week we are happy to give you this exclusive Blank Code podcast by NYC techno producer Deepak Sharma. So often in life, the best things are not immediately obvious. Surrounded by mediocrity, their appeal is irresistible upon closer examination. New York City’s Hidden Recordings has exemplified this enduring truth since its founding in 2006. The brainchild of Deepak Sharma and his production partner, Dieter Krause, Hidden Recordings began as a platform for the enterprising duo’s releases and in 2008 expanded into releasing the work of a gifted, international cohort. Because the imprint’s focus has always been on releasing top notch techno, its patient, quality-based approach has earned Hidden Recordings the support of renowned and diverse talents such as Adam Beyer, Marcel Dettmann, Seth Troxler, and legions more.
In 2012, Hidden Recordings pursues a demanding release schedule that draws in new talents, such as Plankton, M.A.D.A., Alejandro Trebor, Mike Wall, Bodyscrub, Dolby D, Tom Eirh, and Spark Taberner. Throughout the year, these latest signings’ tracks will embody the darker, expansive techno sound the label is pursuing. Their originals are paired with remixes by a host of respected producers, including Jerome Sydenham, Mark Broom, Xhin, Alex Bau, Roberto Bosco and Kyle Geiger. When a Hidden Recordings release catches DJs’ attention, they want to share it with audiences and their peers. Word-of-mouth endorsements have lent the label an organic momentum that shows no signs of slowing down or drying up. With bright newcomers and established leading lights maintaining a prolific pace, Hidden Recordings won’t stay hidden much longer.

In their most furious release to date, Blank Code presents the Strumpet EP. Kicking off with the distorted dirty stomp of the Original Mix, Drumcell and Material Object let loose this dark gem that thunders forth the forgotten language of noise. Crowned with explosive hi hats, Strumpet seems to tear through any speaker it touches.
For our 123 Blank Code podcast, it’s our pleasure to give you this recently recorded mix by Stroboscopic Artefacts recording artist, Donor “live @ Scene 14.” The Blank Code series event took place on Saturday September 14th, 2013 @ The Works in downtown Detroit. Greg Schappert aka Donor is a Dj/Producer based out of Brooklyn, NY. Having lived in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Tokyo and Brooklyn, where he currently resides, Greg has acquired quite a few musical influences. However, it was the mid to late 90’s sounds of cities such as Birmingham and Detroit that laid the foundation for what originally sparked Greg’s interest in electronic music and for what would later influence his production. As a solo artist, Greg is currently working along side some of the industries most influential labels; including Stroboscopic Artefacts, Semantica Records, Perc Trax and Prosthetic Pressings.
